Preliminary Hotel Information

For your convenience, the following information is being provided to help you prepare and budget for the JMM 2024. Reservations at these rates can only be made through the Mathematics Meetings Service Bureau (MMSB) and they will start accepting reservations when registration opens. (For now, we are targeting late August for registration to open.) The hotels cannot accept any reservations directly at the JMM rates listed below. Any rooms reserved directly with the hotels at JMM rates will be changed to higher rates. All rates are in US\$ and are subject to local and state taxes, shown in each hotel listing; all subject to change.

The Moscone North/South Center will be the location of the meeting, with the majority being in South. The JMM Registration Desk, exhibits, poster sessions, invited addresses, some scientific sessions, AMS Employment Center, Grad School Fair, Career Fair and some social events (especially the Grand Opening Reception) will be located in Moscone South. Only a few events, particularly contributed paper sessions, will be in Moscone North. PEPs, committee meetings, and some (majority) social events will be located in the Marriott Marquis.

The distances from Moscone Center North/South are indicated below.

BEWARE of Room Poachers and Housing Scams

Please beware of aggressive housing bureaus and marketing groups that target potential attendees and exhibitors of a meeting. They are sometimes called "room poachers" or "room-block pirates" and these companies often position themselves as the meeting’s housing bureau or a marketing group working on behalf of the meeting. They try to convince attendees and exhibitors to unknowingly book outside the official room block. They call or email people who they think will more likely than not attend the meeting and lure them with room rates that are significantly less than the published group rate -- for a limited time only. And people who find this offer tempting may hand over their credit card data, believing they have scored a great rate and their housing for the meeting is confirmed. Unfortunately, it is not and this often turns out to be the start of a long, costly nightmare for them.

These groups are not affiliated with the Joint Mathematics Meetings in any way. The only official housing bureau for this meeting is the MMSB and they would never call or email anyone to solicit reservations. The only way to book a room at a negotiated JMM rate is through the JMM registration form or through the MMSB. Registration is not open for the JMM yet.

The JMM cannot be held responsible for any damages incurred as a result of hotel bookings made with unofficial housing bureaus and marketing groups.
