American Statistical Association (ASA)

Mathematicians and others who teach courses in introductory statistics will be pleased to know that the course Teaching Statistics with Active Learning will again be offered on January 4 and 5 preceding the Joint Mathematics Meetings in San Diego. Presenters for this two-day LearnSTAT course are Beth L. Chance and Allan J. Rossman, California Polytechnic State University. The course is designed for instructors from universities, colleges, junior colleges, and high schools. It will actively involve participants with hands-on investigations that can be adopted for use with students. The course is of particular value to those who teach statistics but have little training in the discipline.
